Served in the United States Army as a Communication Platoon Sgt.; he served three years in
Germany, 4 tours in Korean, and was also stationed at Fort Hood Texas, Fort Sill Oklahoma,
Fort Gordon Georgia and Fort Jackson South Carolina.
Upon completion of his military career, he and his family moved to Dallas TX. where he
accepted a job in the "corporate world". Due to mismanagement and a host of other internal
problems, the company started cutting back, laying off and closing down facilities. John like
hundreds of thousands of other Americans found himself unemployed for the first time in his
life.
